Live Edge and Burl Furniture
I love creating with rare and unusual materials. Our luxury furnishings are often made with rare burl in exceptional sizes then inlaid with stone or even gold. As always, I can incorporate your ideas into Sculpture or Furniture to create the perfect addition to your home or business.
Some of the interesting woods we use: Old Growth Redwood, Giant Sequoia, occasionally Ash Juniper, Spalted Pecan, Spalted Elm, Cypress, Mesquite, Oak Burl, Desert Ironwood and more
I've been creating tables from live edge slabs for over 20 years. I enjoy the challenge of working with large natural "live edge" slabs and have created tables from a single log slab cut "through and through" with lengths exceeding 20 feet...I love the history and beauty of the wood. When I have a huge slab of wood that dates back 1,000 to 2,000 years it would seem a crime to "cut it up" for lumber or small pieces so I have a tendency to "max out" the slabs I have available and enjoy showcasing them in the large area of a table top. We always use solid wood slabs, no veneers.
A word on pricing: I'm happy to provide you with a "ball park" quote, but prices can vary considerably depending on the design as well the value of the materials invoilved. The prices below are a low to high range from a Redwood dining table featuring a straighter grain slab on one end of the scale, to an extraordinary Burled and /or and Inlaid table for up to 20! Just let me know what fits your needs.
Prices for dining tables will range from approximately $3,000 for smaller simpler tables, to $100,000 for some of my huge "through and through" cut, solid slab, Inlaid and Burled tables.

Huge Figured Redwood Coffee or Dining Table
Beautiful Redwood, bright color with flame curly figure!
Cross cut round of Redwood (sometimes called a "cookie" cut) Inlaid with a natural green and red stone in the natural voids across the top and over the edge.
Beautiful big slab, coming in at approx 6 x 7 feet (71" x 88") and a very substantial thickness of 5 inches, we have it photographed on a Redwood Root base in a dining table height of 30 inches. A coffee table height base would also be available.
As a dining table this table will seat about 8, maybe more depending on your chairs.

Super RARE Curly Redwood Slab....incredible figure and chatoyance.
Like a gemstone this slab changes appearance depending on the light and viewing angle.
Measures approx 44 x 58 inches across, 15 inches high, the slab is 2.5 inches thick, tapering slightly at the edges. Double pillar bases, turquoise inlay across the top and over the edges.
This slab is from a very old and large Old Growth Redwood, dates back around 2,000 years and the tree was around 20 feet across.

This is a an absolutely incredible Birdseye Maple Burl, likely one of the largest in the world. It is made from a burl "cap" which means from the outer cut of the burl, it is not a slab, it is over a foot thick and it retains the live edge with birdseye grain all around the outside.
Stone Inlay randomly across the top in the natural voids, and over the edges in a few spots.
Measures 7 feet 8 inches by 7 feet 8 inches, 17 inches high...live edge...very heavy.

I wanted to show off the interesting color variation so I chose to frame it in Amber backed with gold...My Amber inlays are inspired by the "Amber Room" of Russia. There are a few insects in the amber!
